The role will champion their accounts receivable program and provide support in a variety of accounting tasks. As this role will be involved with multiple entities in varying industries, it is the perfect opportunity to gain exposure and experience in a diverse business setting.

Who- the Company:
Our client is a diverse, family-owned group of companies based in Vancouver, with operating businesses in real estate, aviation, and specialized tourism. This position is part of the Head Office team which provides centralized administrative functions to all the Group entities.

What- the Role:
Junior Accountant, reporting to the Director of Finance. The accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting. Additionally, the new accountant can learn, grow, and take on other exciting accounting duties over time. Please find a job description attached.

  • Managing their creditor lifecycle from start to finish – reviewing applications, performing credit checks, processing billing, and following up with collections.

  • Manage the AR cycle – Process Client billings, record receipts & provide monthly statements to their clients.

  • AR Collections – Communicating with clients in a professional but persistent manner that ensures our AR turnover meets our goals.

  • Assisting the Controller with Month-End & Quarter-End processes.

  • Completing monthly Visa reconciliations for approximately 65 corporate credit cards.

  • Accounts payable, bank reconciliations, journal entries.

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable accounting professional with a keen desire to learn and pick up new skills quickly. The work has peak and off seasons, so the ability to handle a heavy workflow with calmness and independence is crucial. You enjoy problem-solving and do not mind getting out of your comfort zone. You are highly computer savvy, and able to pick up new or unfamiliar programs quickly. You are a well-rounded individual who relishes a fun and dynamic work environment.

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, or the appropriate mix of education and experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high level of proficiency in English.

  • Incredible attention to detail – nothing gets past you.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create and maintain workflows.

  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong follow-through skills and easily able to adapt and maintain your own work pace with little supervision.

  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Outgoing, fun, with an excellent sense of humour.
