What- the Role:
Our client is looking for a dynamic and hands-on individual to join their fast-paced entrepreneurial team as an Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting. Please note that for the Assistant Manager title, candidates will have achieved their CPA accounting designation at least one year ago, with 6+ years of accounting-related work experience. This role could also be titled Senior Accountant for candidates who are freshly designated and/or with less than 5 years of relevant work experience.
The new employee will focus on financial reporting (under US GAAP) and tax (overseeing the tax work prepared by a Big 4 firm) and require an understanding of internal controls (SOX). The Sr. Acct will be in frequent communication with accountants working in Vancouver and in other offices, many of whom are CPAs who trained in a large public practice accounting firm.
This is a well-rounded, comprehensive role and a great learning opportunity for a high-achieving individual. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of an entrepreneurial environment and is hands-on in their approach to solving complex and rewarding accounting issues. This is a unique and rare opportunity to have direct accountability for some of the accounting and finance at an established public company where you can get direct insight into the innerworkings of the business. Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking designated CPAs (Canadian CPAs or US CPAs) with 5+ years’ of relevant work experience. Public practice training is preferred and industry experience is an asset. A high-performing Senior Associate or recently promoted Manager direct out of public practice can be very successful in this role. Ideally seeking people with recent and relevant experience with public company reporting (US GAAP would be great!). We are looking for well-rounded accounting professionals with a track record of success in their career and education. Great communication skills and a high EQ are key. Strong Excel skills are required.
