What- the Role:
Our client is looking to hire a bright, results-oriented, and systems savvy Accountant who will report into the Accounting & Finance Manager, interact closely with the COO and CFO, and work alongside individuals in Property Accounting, Development Accounting, Clerical Accounting, and Accounts Payable.
This new Accountant will look after a diverse and interesting portfolio of commercial properties and will gradually take on responsibilities in corporate accounting, including consolidation work for multiple entities. Longer-term this individual can gain more and more corporate accounting or even development accounting responsibilities to broaden their long-term career potential in the real estate sector.
Who- the Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills who enjoy working collaboratively on a team and who pride themselves on a high attention to detail and high-quality work. The new Accountant will be interacting internally with colleagues in all departments (sales, marketing, property management, development, acquisitions, etc.) as well as with external stakeholders. Some of the responsibilities include:

Triple net and gross lease accounting, tenant move in/out, rent roll

Manage daily operations of property accounting mix portfolio commercial and residential

Review month-end reports and sub-ledger reconciliations

Set up new properties and update and change tenant information as required

Prepare annual CAM / Tax recoveries and budgets

Monthly/annual budget variance analysis

Prepare bank reconciliations, and cash management reporting including cash receipts and AR Review

Accrual / adjusting entries, assist in annual year-end working paper files

Liaison with Property Managers and tenants in a timely and professional manner as required

Assist Managers, COO, and CFO if required
