Global Public Company. Excellent opportunity for a technically strong Accounting & Finance professional who is keen to work for a significant global company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Prior public company corporate reporting experience is highly preferred (multinational, multicurrency, multi-entity, highly complex).

Our client is a significant global public company headquartered in Vancouver. What- the Opportunity:  
The new Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting will conduct complex external and internal financial reporting (US GAAP), including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, SEC filing and XBRL filing, financial forecasting, inter-company transactions, financial analysis/variance analysis, and ad hoc work related to transactions. This is a challenging and interesting role and a great way to get to know the ins & outs of a complex global public company. Who- the Candidate Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary education and Canadian CPA designation (or International equivalent).

  • Public practice training highly preferred.

  • Excellent external and internal reporting experience, preferably in US GAAP (but IFRS is also fine)

  • Experience with public company reporting- from industry and/or from a relevant public practice client portfolio. 

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Top-notch communication skills are important- ability to communicate effectively with individuals in all departments and business units.

  • Great problem-solving skills, very good listener, ability to patiently and effectively help with a variety of financial reporting, financial analysis, and financial systems issues.

  • Systems savvy.

Qualifications- Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with XBRL and SEC filings.

  • Exposure to a sophisticated ERP such as Oracle or SAP is a great asset.

  • Strong hands-on experience with both US GAAP and IFRS is preferred but not required.

Headquartered in Downtown Vancouver in a beautiful corporate office; very transit accessible. Hybrid work schedule- the FA can work from home 2 to 3 days a week.

How Much: 
Very generous base salary commensurate with experience, plus a bonus, a pension plan, professional development support for CPA, benefits from Day 1, etc.  Another excellent perk of this role is that the Financial Analyst will be compensated for overtime at peak periods, which can be taken as additional pay or time off in lieu. Beats the long unpaid overtime hours of public practice, and this company already provides better work-life balance than most large public practice firms in any case.
