Who- the Company:

What- the Opportunity:

Controller- permanent, full-time. This opportunity is open as the current Controller, placed by SWIM, is leaving the organization in the spring or summer of 2023. The organization would like to have a solid few months of cross-over training. The new Controller will report into the Director of Finance and will have 3 direct reports: 2 Accountants and 1 Payroll Administrator. This is a very well-rounded role involving financial reporting (multi-entity, under ASPE), cash management/treasury, budgeting & forecasting, year-end audit, overseeing payroll processing, etc. SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a designated accounting leader with at least 2 years experience in senior management and at least 7 years of progressive accounting & finance experience. Qualified candidates will have experience mentoring, leading, and managing at least 1 and ideally 3 direct reports. Experience in an NPO is highly preferred, but not necessarily required for a quick learner who is a fantastic fit with the organization’s culture and values. We are seeking people who are systems savvy and comfortable picking up new software. Strong Excel skills are crucial. From a personality perspective, we are targeting individuals who are down-to-earth, pleasant, professional, and who have excellent relationship building skills. All people working at this organization are encouraged to provide a high level of service, and great people skills and communication abilities are needed as those in accounting are constantly interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.


Vancouver. During the first ~3 months of training, the Controller will be in the office full-time Monday to Friday to maximize cross-over training. After that, the Controller can choose to continue coming into the office Mon-Fri or can start to work from home 1 day a week- please discuss further with SWIM. There is free employee parking on site, but employees are highly encouraged to commute to work in a sustainable manner- i.e. carpooling, bus, cycling, or walking.

How Much:

Base salary commensurate with level of work experience, skills, and education- please discuss with SWIM.
