6-month Data Engineer contract role with a growing team focused on AI enablement for an enterprise organization.

What & Why:
Due to investment in AI, our client is looking to add a junior to mid-level Data Engineer working on their AI Powered Engineering team. In this role you’ll be focused on collecting, processing, and reporting on AI tooling usage and adoption data across the engineering organization. The team’s work directly supports the organizations’ strategic goal of scaling AI-assisted software development, and this role plays a key part in making that adoption measurable and actionable. The core work involves building and maintaining data pipelines and usage dashboards for AI developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex, supporting onboarding workflows for teams adopting these tools, and contributing to integrations across internal platforms including Datadog, GitLab, and ServiceNow. The role also involves proof-of-concept evaluations and documentation for emerging AI tooling.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work environment with 4 days a week in office.
You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 1 to 5 years of data engineering experience, with demonstrated comfort using AI tools as part of day-to-day data engineering workflows.
- Experience capturing and evaluating data from SaaS platforms, with the ability to build and maintain reporting dashboards and pipelines for stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data engineering tools and relevant coding languages, including experience with integration, modelling, and orchestration of complex data.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create templates and training materials for both technical and cross-functional audiences.
- A curious, self-starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously, handle ambiguity pragmatically, and maintain a high level of ownership over your domain.
Compensation:
This role pays between $50-55 per hour.
