Business Intelligence – Advanced Analytics Engineer
6-month Analytic Engineer contract role with a team focused on enterprise wide reporting solutions.
- 6-month Analytics Engineer contract.
- Great chance to be part of a large-scale business transformation.
- Primarily in office work environment, 4 days a week in office.
What & Why:
As a result of growth our client is looking to add a contract analytics engineer to their team. This role combines data engineering expertise with business intelligence to deliver enterprise-wide reporting solutions. You’ll spend half your time building sophisticated dashboards and analytics for the broader enterprise and half supporting the employee help desk team, requiring someone who can work across the full data stack, from understanding and joining backend tables in Snowflake to creating compelling visualizations in Power BI. You should have a data engineering mindset with the ability to collaborate closely with architects and data analytics teams to design end-to-end reporting solutions, maintain complex data structures, automate analytics capabilities, and translate technical metrics (SLAs, CSAT, FCRR, people analytics) into strategic insights that inform leadership decisions across the organization.
Who:
This client is one of the most recognizable Canadian brands, a true Vancouver success story who has expanded globally. They are well known for their corporate culture and has won major awards for their accomplishments. They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work arrangement with 4 days a week in office.
You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- Strong data engineering and backend technical skills including proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for querying relational databases, with ability to understand complex data structures, join tables, and manage large datasets from multiple systems.
- Hands-on experience building enterprise dashboards and visualizations using Power BI (primary), with ability to support existing sophisticated dashboards and create new reporting solutions regardless of platform.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and analytics tools such as Snowflake (maintaining tables and data structures) and ServiceNow Performance Analytics, with focus on backend data work rather than platform administration.
- Proven ability collaborating with technical teams (architects, data analytics teams, vendors) to design end-to-end reporting solutions, with familiarity in technology support metrics (SLAs, CSAT, ASA, FCRR) and organizational people analytics (scheduling, forecasting, turnover, shrinkage).
Compensation:
This role pays between $55-65 per hour.
