Meet the SWIM Team

Amy is a Senior Account Executive with SWIM and has built up over 20 years of experience in recruitment. Known for her commitment, passion, and loyalty to her clients, Amy enjoys collaborating and strategizing with hiring managers and SWIM's recruiting team to identify the best talent.

Amy is originally from Ontario. After graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree and then spending four years in Japan teaching English and working at the Olympics, Amy moved to Vancouver as she wanted to live among the mountains. She landed in recruitment in 1999 by accident and hasn’t looked back! Having spent a decade with SWIM, Amy feels blessed to be part of an amazing and collaborative team, loves that she can bring her dog to work, and praises SWIM for embodying a culture of respect and fun.

Amy is an avid marathon runner, skier, and ‘home decorator’, and relishes her family time in Whistler with her three teenage kids, husband, and lab.

Pam has worked in recruitment (both in-house and agency) and in human resources since 2004 for large leading organizations in the local market. Her specialization for the majority of her career has in been supporting Accounting & Finance, HR and Executive professionals either through recruitment or human resources support. Pam's love for recruitment comes from her enjoyment in listening to the stories of talented professionals and matching them to opportunities that best meet their life goals.

Pam has a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Entrepreneurial Leadership and has completed her CPHR. Pam joined SWIM after having a relationship with the firm as a hiring client in the past. She feels that SWIM offers a great environment with great people, valued ethics and a great balance for her young family.

Pam loves everything to do with the outdoors, including hiking, biking, skiing and camping. She tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible with her young family. While not outdoors, Pam is a self-help junkie and Pinterest lover trying to recreate many delicious foods and pieces for her home.

Emily is a Senior Recruiter on the Information Technology Team, who enjoys the challenge of working on highly technical searches for her clients. Responsible for client management and full cycle recruiting of IT roles, she is constantly striving to provide a good client and candidate experience which has enabled her to build and maintain positive relationships. Having been part of the Swim family for the past 6 years and counting, she considers herself truly blessed to be surrounded by such fun, supportive, and talented people.

After completing her Business Administration degree from SFU with a major in HR, she decided to combine her previous customer service work experience with her education background to pursue a career in Recruitment. She started her career with a global recruitment firm, specializing in engineering searches, before joining Swim in 2015.

In her spare time, she can be found binge-watching the latest Netflix shows (Korean dramas included) with some bubble tea, staying active at the gym or at home with a workout video, or at the playground with her toddler.

Arby is an Account Manager and Senior Recruitment Consultant on the Accounting and Finance Team. She enjoys working on a variety of different roles in areas such as Administration, Executive Administration, Human Resources, Customer Service, and of course, Accounting and Finance. Arby loves the fast-paced world of recruitment but what she loves even more is developing genuine connections with her candidates and clients. “The best part of my job is seeing how I can truly help other people find their dream roles and then seeing them succeed in it. That joy and spark I see in my candidates and clients when they get there...that is what keeps me going.”

Arby completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from TWU. She has been in the recruitment world since 2013. Arby spent a year in internal recruitment in the Financial Industry sector but she has spent most of her recruitment career with Swim Recruiting. She is constantly challenged, inspired, and supported by her team members and management. There really is no better agency to be a part of!

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and dog. She loves hiking, biking, and her Peloton. Arby is also an avid home decorator. She is always looking to spruce something up in the house! You can find her buying and returning items from Home Sense on a weekly basis.

Sarah completed her Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and comes from the financial industry. She started her recruitment career in 2014 and joined SWIM in 2016.

Sarah has a passion for meeting new people and introducing unique opportunities to candidates. She finds placing candidates in roles which meet their personal and professional goals to be a very rewarding experience. Her specialization has been in supporting candidates and clients in Accounting, Finance, HR and Corporate Services. “SWIM upholds great ethics and values, provides a positive and flexible culture, and is an organization that prioritizes philanthropy and giving back to the community".

Sarah spent a lot of her childhood traveling with her family, and this helped create her love for new experiences and cultures. When she is not working or travelling, she enjoys painting, spending time outdoors, and playing tennis.

Shannon joined Swim Recruiting in 2016 and has over 7 years of IT Recruitment experience. His hard work, knowledge of the Vancouver IT Market and continuous dedication to his clients has been the key to his success in Recruitment. He works a 360 desk, as an Account Manager and Senior Recruitment Consultant and has successfully filled contract and permanent positions with Vancouver’s largest public and private sector clients.

Prior to getting into Recruitment, Shannon spent 10 years in IT Sales and 3 years as a Realtor, so he knows the importance of relationship management. His honest approach has helped his clients acquire top talent, and helped his candidates get great jobs with Vancouver’s best employers!

Shannon likes to keep an active lifestyle and enjoys hiking, biking, running, and snowboarding. He also loves to travel, experiencing different cultures and trying new food. The jury is still out on this one, but Shannon claims to have the best banter on the IT team.

Manvir, AKA "Manny", is a Recruiter on SWIM's Information Technology team, joining the firm back in 2017 and if you ask him, he has enjoyed every minute of it! He loves working with such a fun, entertaining, and collaborative team and definitely takes pride in being an accountable team member himself. He is passionate about building long-lasting relationships with his clients and candidates and shows a tremendous amount of dedication in supporting and helping them move forward in their careers.

Manvir is Vancouver-born, California-raised and now back in Vancouver after completing his degree at California State University in Fresno. Starting his career in technology sales, he made the pivot to technical recruiting because it perfectly blends his passions of helping others, tech, and coaching.

In his off-work hours, you can find him spending time with friends & family, watching sports, or enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s camping, hiking, or BBQing, all with his pup by his side. If you spend a little too much time with Manny, he might just start telling you about how he used to be a former athlete.

Kim started her career within Tech Recruitment in 2017 at Swim Recruiting and has never looked back! Kim holds a positive, enthusiastic and friendly personality, which has helped her develop strong relationships with her team, candidates, and clients. She enjoys working in a fast-paced and results-driven industry and truly takes the time to understand her candidates needs. Her goal is to help candidates find their next exciting opportunity and provide insight, support, and encouragement, as she understands how stressful & nerve-racking the job search and interviewing process can be.

Kim is grateful for the experience she’s gained while working with others, in high-pressure situations and wanted to translate that into the fast-paced world of agency recruitment where she could help people and companies find their best match.

Outside of work, you can find Kim working on her DIY projects, cooking up new healthy recipes, enjoying the outdoors, or browsing flights for her next adventure.

Roisin made the move to Vancouver from Ireland in 2016 which she describes as one of the best decisions she ever made. She has gained 5 years experience in recruitment, initially within a multi-national firm and later becoming a proud ‘Swimmer’ in early 2018. Roisin’s main focus is supporting Accounting & Finance, Administration, HR and Marketing searches on both the client and candidate side. Her favourite part of recruiting is matchmaking great candidates with incredible companies here in Vancouver.

After making a move to a new country herself, Roisin thoroughly enjoys helping overseas candidates and newcomers with their local job search and has been able to work quite closely with the Irish community here in Vancouver.

Roisin enjoys exploring and adventuring through the playground that is BC. When not working, she can be found skiing all across BC at any given chance she gets in the winter and soaking up the sun hiking in the local mountains, camping and swimming in BC’s beautiful lakes in the summer. In her spare time, she is planning her wedding with her fiancé and enjoys cooking, baking cakes for the office, sewing, interior decorating, and generally crafting: up-styling, or DIY-ing almost anything she can get her hands on!

After graduating from the Free University of Berlin with a Business Degree, Si would never have imagined that a language trip to Vancouver would end up with her finding her new permanent home and a career in recruitment: “I came to Vancouver as a new graduate and instantly fell in love with this beautiful city and its people! I ended up temping as an Administrator for an international recruitment agency. And, well, the rest is history!"

In 2015, Si transitioned into her first sourcing role, focusing on senior level contract and project professionals in the fields of Accounting & Finance. She then joined SWIM in 2018, providing 360 recruitment expanding beyond accounting and finance to include administrative, HR, and marketing roles: “SWIM embraces diversity and respects individual approaches in recruitment. Working in this flexible environment allows me to build deeper client and candidate relationships and to see beyond metrics and numbers”.

In her free time, you can find Si playing volleyball, cheering on her son on the sidelines of his soccer game, or planning her next family trip to Europe or Asia.

Darren has been a Recruiter on the Accounting & Finance Team at Swim Recruiting since 2019. He enjoys the fast-pace of recruitment and loves fostering relationships with clients and candidates from all walks of life. Darren particularly enjoys “not just finding the right person for a job description but more importantly someone who will enjoy the job and who will want to stay with the company and grow over the years.” For Darren, there is no better feeling than to support, help, mentor and coach candidates on their job search and then see them succeed.

Darren completed a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Financial Services in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Vancouver in 2019. Darren has been lucky enough to meet many amazing colleagues at SWIM who he now considers friends - people who made him feel so welcome in Canada. SWIM has been the highlight of Darren’s career so far.

When not recruiting Darren enjoys travelling, hiking, biking, working out and attending concerts and shows.

A passionate relationship builder with over 5 years of experience in talent acquisition for the IT industry, Mohak brings his vigor to the SWIM team. He possesses a keen acumen for recognizing fresh talent and has used his skills to hire competent candidates for Fortune 500 companies across North America. At SWIM, Mohak is an IT recruitment specialist who acts as a bridge to connect enterprising individuals with top Canadian employers.

Beyond tech recruitment, Mohak is also well versed with finance and accounting, thanks to his strong educational background in the field. His coworkers and friends describe him as a dynamic individual who is always brimming with energy.

When not working, you will find Mohak browsing through car catalogues, enjoying the outdoors, watching cricket or accompanying his wife on her shopping sprees!

Simran landed in Vancouver, Canada during the 2019 Winter season to explore the natural and cultural riches that the city had to offer. She completed a Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration from Langara College, where her passion for HR led her to be a founding member of the college's HR Professionals Club.

A social media savvy HR professional with 4 years of experience in talent acquisition, Simran is an IT Recruiter at SWIM. Her flair for networking and making connections propelled her towards a career in HR. She was born and brought up in Delhi, India and completed a Bachelors Degree in Commerce. A former state-level table-tennis player, Simran brings her dedication and perseverance to the high performing team at SWIM.

Beyond work, Simran is a cheesecake connoisseur, and you will either find her exploring local eateries or tackling for adventurous hiking trails across B.C.

Niall James Quinn joined Swim Recruiting in May 2021 making him one of SWIM’s newest Recruiters. With over 10 years experience in various levels of customer service, Niall thrives when working with clients and candidates as he really enjoys getting to know people and building trusting professional relationships. Niall is used to working in fast paced environments and is excited to have joined the SWIM family.

Niall completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Television production and has worked in various production roles within the film and television industry, most recently on the TV series "Charmed". He moved to Vancouver in 2019 and has decided to lean on his 10+ years experience in customer service to join Swim Recruiting as he wants to connect great people with great companies. With his wide range of experience, Niall will be of benefit to lend support and help to candidates searching for their dream job as well as to clients looking to find their ideal candidate.

Outside of work, Niall has a keen eye for photography and videography. Since moving to Canada, Niall has adapted to British Columbia life by becoming an avid hiker; however, he is yet to master his skiing technique. In the past, Niall has competed in a half marathon for charity and is making it his mission to one day compete in a full marathon.

Wilbert began his IT recruiting career in 2016, initially specializing in recruiting for software engineers. Since then, Wilbert has become a full-spectrum IT recruitment consultant, finding talent for all the positions that make tech happen. He believes a great recruitment consultant is an advocate and advisor who helps candidates advance their career goals. In particular, Wilbert finds a lot of job satisfaction helping newcomers get back into their fields in the Canadian tech industry. Wilbert loves building meaningful, long-term relationships throughout the IT industry.

He became a Swimmer in the summer of 2021 and he is absolutely loving working with the super collaborative and super fun team of Swimmers. Wilbert also loves the support and freedom that SWIM provides to ensure the team can do the best job supporting job seekers and companies.

Wilbert graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in History (Honours) where his graduating thesis studied foreign humanitarian work in 1930s China. He is a lifelong PC gaming hobbyist and counts fencing (foil and sabre), hockey, and powerlifting as his favorite activities.

Apoorv is a Recruitment Consultant on SWIM’s Accounting & Finance, Administration, and HR recruitment team. Soon after finishing his Bachelor’s in IT Engineering, Apoorv went on to get a Master's in Labor Studies. Apoorv enjoys making meaningful connections with people and is enthusiastic about finding the right talent for the right companies. Apoorv loves working in recruiting because it is a service that is centered on people and he has a talent for establishing lasting relationships in both his professional and personal life. With over 8 years of experience in Human Resources, he brings a diverse and global perspective to the team.

Apoorv is an automobile enthusiast and even used to be an automotive journalist! Outside of work he also enjoys travelling and watching cricket and tennis. When he is not recruiting Apoorv can be found playing tennis or planning his next road trip.

Originally from Pakistan, Rida immigrated to Chicago, Illinois with her family in 2016 and then moved to Vancouver in December 2020 after graduating from NIU with a degree in HR management. Rida joined Swim Recruiting as an Accounting and Finance Recruitment Consultant in September 2021 and is loving every minute of it.

Rida enjoys meeting new people and learning about their experiences. She finds it rewarding when people share their passions and career goals with her. She strives to maintain honest and respectful communication throughout the recruitment process with her candidates.

Outside of work, Rida enjoys exploring new restaurant/dessert spots in Vancouver, biking at Stanley Park, binge-watching shows on Netflix and travelling.

Niamh (pronounced ‘Neev’) is most likely to answer to ‘Nim’ for the duration of her stay in Canada! She is not only a newbie to Vancouver but is also a new member to the Swim Recruiting family. She is working as a recruitment coordinator and joining SWIM has been one of the best decisions she has made since moving here, ‘I feel so lucky to be a part of such an amazing and welcoming team, everyone has made me feel so at home’. Niamh is super outgoing and is always up for a chat, she brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Niamh completed a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Galway, Ireland and moved to Vancouver in 2021. This role suits her best as she loves working in a fast-paced environment, working behinds the scenes whereby she can offer a helping hand to her team, candidates, as well as clients.

When she’s not working Niamh loves to keep active and is always on the go, so you will more than likely see her hiking a mountain, in the gym or just exploring around the great BC. She has a passion for baking and loves whipping up new healthy recipes, binge watching Greys Anatomy and facetiming her three dogs back home.

Maura made the big move to Vancouver in 2022. She moved here from Ireland but feels right at home with the big Irish community here in BC. Maura is an Administrative Assistant here at SWIM. She loves offering a helping hand where she can, and this is why she loves her role.

Maura graduated with a bachelor’s degree in commerce from National University of Ireland Galway and specialized in Human Resources in her final year.

In her spare time Maura loves playing and watching GAA (Gaelic football). She joined the Fraser Valley Gaels team in BC and is excited to play and go on trips away for tournaments. Maura loves finding great food and tried sushi for the first time in Vancouver.

Mark is an experienced recruiter across Finance and Corporate governance, and in recent years has been partnering UK and globally listed organizations recruit into their specialist UK-based audit, risk and internal controls functions. Meticulous and empathetic in his approach, he takes huge pride in establishing strong relationships and really getting to know both his candidates and clients alike that ultimately matches great people with great jobs.

Arriving to Vancouver from the UK in April 22’, Mark was delighted to join a leading BC agency SWIM within their Accounting and Finance team, and after a very warm welcome, their highly knowledgeable, collaborative and ethical environment is already clearly evident.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing rugby, following the mighty Brentford FC and all things fitness related, and as a new arrival to the country, can’t wait to explore Canada’s outdoors!

Khadija is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and has a Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Oxford Brooks University, UK. She moved to Canada in 2020 from Pakistan and decided to make Vancouver her second home.

She has 8 years of extensive experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting. Her limitless appetite for learning drives her to acquire new knowledge daily. Khadija firmly believes in pursuing one's passion and continuously striving for growth. She joined Swim Recruiting as an in-house Senior Accountant and is glad to be part of an amazing team.

During her leisure time, Khadija finds joy in traveling and exploring new dining experiences. She also enjoys nature walks, hiking, kayaking and is always looking to satisfy her sweet tooth with a tasty snack!
